NATRONA COUNTY MEALS ON WHEELS ELIGIBILTY & HOW TO JOIN THE PROGRAM
ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for our services, you must be:

  • Age 60+
  • Spouse of someone Age 60+
  • Disabled person living with an eligible senior age 60+
  • Medicaid Waiver Accepted

Each new Meals On Wheels client is required to participate in a comprehensive, one-on-one assessment with the our social worker.  During assessment, the recipient and social worker determine an appropriate contribution based on his or her ability to contribute towards the cost of meals. No eligible senior will ever be denied meals based on their inability to contribute.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLIENTS
  • Meals will be delivered hot and ready to eat. Be sure to refrigerate them if you intend to reheat and eat later.
  • Immediately refrigerate or freeze any meals you receive for dinner or for the weekend.
  • If you won't be home when the meal is delivered or don't wish to receive a meal that day, please call the office at 265-8659 no later than 9 a.m. to avoid wasting meals.
  • If you wish to have your meals delivered on a day that you won't be home, please make prior arrangements with the office so we know if your meal can be received by a neighbor, delivered to your refrigerator, or dropped in a clean cooler containing ice outside your front door.
  • We are concerned about your well-being. If you have not notified us in advance that you will not be home and you do not answer the door, we will make every effort to learn your whereabouts and make sure that you are safe.
  • During your assessment visit, we ask that you provide us with the name, address and phone number of an emergency contact that we may call if we are concerned about your well-being.
